Breast Implants

Actually arm implants I just said that to get your attention.

I think cyclists should get airfoil implants in their arms for time trials.

Happy New Year

Amityville police say man on bike stole GPS device

A Copiague man who allegedly stole a global-positioning system navigator was arrested after a police officer who had stopped the man on his bike pushed the device's "home" button and found the address of the owner, Amityville Village police said yesterday.

Alex Batista, 33, of Great Neck Road, drew the suspicion of the officer Saturday morning about 1 a.m. because Batista was struggling to ride the bike on Merrick Road with the device in his arms and with protruding wires dangling near the spokes, said Sgt. Brian Scott.

The "home" address listed on the GPS device was a block away from the stop, on Grand Central Avenue.

When officers went there, the owner said he didn't know his van had been vandalized but confirmed the GPS device belonged to him, Scott said.

"He says, 'It's mine. It should be in that van over there,'" Scott said.

The owner had not locked his car before the theft, which appeared to have occurred about five minutes before the officer stopped Batista, Scott said.

In total, Batista was riding his bike with about $1,000 in stolen property, Scott said.

Batista - who was arraigned on charges of larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, both misdemeanors, as well as ticketed for nighttime operation of a bicycle without a light - was ordered held on $1,500 bail, which he had not posted, police and jail officials said.

Thanks man, just another excuse for the next redneck hummer driver to run me over. I appreciate that.

I'm not going to review it, nobody really cares what other people think about books at least I don't anyways. See for yourself what you think of it, or read something else, or don't read anything. Hmm...why does anybody do anything?

Snow biking

So today was my first long ride outside since the California trip. I usually can't go out for more than 45 minutes because my hands get really cold even with 3 pairs of gloves. Today I just put some plastic bags over my hands, it worked really well. A foot of snow on the ground with more falling made for a very picturesque adventure on the mountain bike. Rode tempo for about 2 hours.

I think Nick Frey should have said "Bradley Wiggins" when asked what his favorite hair band was (www.cyclingupdate.com). I know I would have.

week in review

After finishing a week of endless hours indoors, I've finally come up with the creativity to post. Of lack thereof. Monday and Tuesday I managed to ride an hour outdoors each day. Tuesday I finished up with another hour indoors. Wednesday I rode indoors for 2hours watching oprah and cycling on the tube. Thursday I drove to Des Moines right after school to go to Nick Frey's time trailing clinic with Alaina. It was a blast, great to see some fellow racers I haven't seen since the summer. The seminar was really good, picked up a lot of new information. That guy is so cool. Nick is a pro cyclist, and maintains a 4.00 at Princeton. Fascinating. Here is his blog. He complimented my jacket. Didn't get back from that thing until one, and didn't feel very good Friday, finally christmas break. Saturday I managed an hour outside before the blizzard and finished with more indoors. The blizzard left us with loads of snow that night, and with all the drifting, our yard looks like a penquin subdivision. Finished up with 2.5 hours inside today! whoopee. Looking forward to depriving myself of sleep and listening to Hearts of Space tonight.

Global Warming=Ice Storms

Lots of indoor riding lately

All bikers hate indoor riding. I about kill myself everytime I do it. Anywhoozee, here's how I make it less boring
1) On long rides, (2+hours), I take a short eating break every hour
2) If goal is average heart rate 160, I'll go through 20 minute cycles starting easy, and finishing above the goal. For example, 5 minutes at 150, five minutes at 155, five minutes at 165 and five minutes at 170, then repeat.
3) Write on my blog
4) Read
5) Watch TV
6) Listen to NPR
7) I cover up my stopwatch, and put of looking at it as long as possible. Then when I do look at it, it seems like a bigger time chunk has passed rather than when constantly staring at it.
8) Occasionally ride with one legs
Ugh...only...3 more months...

Biking and Banging

This marks the beginning of a new era -_-
Logan and Jimmy have united to form a duo of adventurism. Together we will go places no two inexperienced juniors in High School would go, and do things no normal people would do. We rock out with our cock out.

No... we're not gay
Not that there is anything wrong with that

ANYWAY, from here on out we will be documenting the journeys of Jimmy and his bike and all things surrounding Jimmy and his bike. I'll be there too, the crazy cooky quirky guy who is willing to try anything(not drugs). I'm Logan by the way. We'll do some stuff, video tape it, and give it to whoever wants to see it. Hopefully its worth watching... spread the word bitches

Facebook is the devil

Its ironic that when you type in "down with Facebook" into Google, the first ten results that come up are not interested in the downage of facebook. Most of them are actually links to facebook itself.

55 million people have facebook! Most of the people reading this have facebook! And to do what? Spend endless hours filling out stupid interviews that are addictive but no one reads. Write about all the music and tv shows and join groups about saving the environment while using electrically heated keyboard. Write about how you (yeah you) spend too much time on facebook (thats intelligent). I don't care that you like coldplay! I don't that you like penguins! I don't care that you're currently bored! NEITHER DOES ANY ONE ELSE!!!!! And I most definitely don't care that it was the most terrible thing in the world when you spilled catsup on your shoes! You obviously haven't walked around western Sudan lately. Facebook isn't creating a broader social unity. It's creating a society with senseless priorities, non existent virtue, impertinent banter and worthless information.

IF YOU GET FACEBOOK YOU WILL DIE

california snapos

These are all around Palos Verdes. PV road goes 1400 feet up the hill on the ocean, then down the other side. A little heavy on traffic but the bike lanes are big and the scenery is amazing.

Los Angeles in the daytime. Thats not the ocean in the background, thats smog.

I'll have more when I get a better connection.

Ouch

One minute, you are riding peacefully home from school, the next minute, there is a ten foot gash in your leg. I am glad I shave my legs, by the way I have gotten mixed emotions from my classmates for this, but most chicks dig it.

This time change is gay. It leaves about an hour to ride on the morning and/or 1.5 hours after school (aka not enough time for base miles). I would be down if the sun rose at noon and set at midnight. I'm going to Southern California over Thanksgiving break (hopefully), should be fun. The ten day forcast looks just beautiful, 75 and sunny every day. Also planing on an eight day training vacation in Phoenix in February. Also probably visiting colleges, just so the school doesn't freak out.

Halloween was fun. My buds and I walked raiding the town (seven houses) carrying swords and machetes. I looked like a terrorist apparently.
Teacher: what did you dress up as?
John: a ghost
Teacher: and what about you?
Logan: a lion
Teacher: and what about you Jimmy?
Jimmy: Al Quaeda
